How to know when a piece of Fine Art is right for you?

I want you to know that I put a tremendous amount of time, energy, thought, and emotion into every creation I make. Perhaps this is your first time considering a fine art purchase, and you might feel intimidated or overwhelmed. Well I’m here to tell you that art is for EVERYONE, and guide you through the process.

Acquiring art is a unique experience, quite different from purchasing most other items. I understand that it can be intimidating, but I genuinely believe that owning fine art can be a joy for everyone. Allow me to share my tips with you.

I liken choosing a piece of art to finding a life partner or falling in love. It's an emotional investment first and foremost. When you come across one of my paintings, or any artwork for that matter, you'll know it's right for you when it evokes a strong emotional response. Did it make you feel joyful, alive, energetic, peaceful, dreamy, or filled with wonder? Did it transport you away from your everyday life or remind you of something special, like a trip, family member or your childhood?

You should truly love the art you acquire and not let others' opinions or trends dictate your decision. It's a deeply personal experience. If you find yourself consistently drawn to a particular painting, that's a good sign that it's a keeper. Beautiful original artwork can stand alone in a space; it doesn't need to match the pillows on your sofa. Instead, it should evoke the feeling you desire for your home or room.

A captivating piece of art that you love will be one you can bring along to different spaces and homes throughout your life. Drawing from my experience as a former interior designer, I often used clients' favorite art to inspire the overall ambiance of their homes. The art you choose becomes a reflection of your style and personality.

While the emotional aspect is crucial, there are also practical considerations to keep in mind. Does your budget permit this purchase? I understand that making a significant investment in art can seem daunting, especially for first-time collectors. However, I've found that most collectors acquire my art because they feel a deep connection to a particular piece, to me as an artist, or to my painting style in general. This connection makes them more comfortable with the investment.

I have never had a collector express buyer's remorse. On the contrary, once they bring their first piece home and experience the transformative power of owning a painting they truly love, they can't wait to add to their collection. Sharing the painting and its story with others becomes a source of pride and joy.
