Commissions
Thank you for your interest in commissioning a painting from me. Below, you will find all the necessary details regarding the commission process.
Limited Commission Slots
Please note that I only take a limited number of commissions each year. Priority for commission slots is given to members of my Collectors Club.
Artistic Style
While my paintings depict reality, they are stylized and not detailed replicas of the references provided. I do not repaint past works, but I am open to creating new pieces based on elements you enjoy from your favorite paintings of mine. Before submitting a commission request, I recommend viewing my current work and style to ensure it aligns with your preferences.
Non-Refundable Fee
To secure your commission spot, a non-refundable fee of $100 is required. This fee will be deducted from the total cost of the commission.
Timing
Please note that my oil paintings typically take an average of two to three weeks to dry enough for varnishing, framing, and shipping once completed. Therefore, I recommend placing your commission order no less than 6-8 weeks before the required date to allow for appropriate timing.
Collaboration & Imagery
Commissions are a collaborative process between myself as the artist and the collector. The artwork is based on imagery provided by the commissioner or a particular subject. It is important that the images provided are your own, as I cannot paint based on another person's photography or artwork. Additionally, I may request images of the space where the painting will be hung, as it helps me recommend the appropriate size and color palette.
Approval & Agreement
If an available time slot works for you and we both agree on a collaborative idea, we will enter into an agreement. This agreement will include details such as the price, size, timeline, color palette, framing, and shipping options.
Payment
Once work on the commission begins, an initial investment of 50 percent will be collected. The remaining balance will not be due until the piece is completed.
