After my trip to New England I found inspiration in its picturesque landscapes. The sunny skies of Southern California have a warmer hue compared to the crisp and clean skies of New England. I aimed to capture this unique atmosphere in my painting. For this artwork I used a photo taken by a close friend. The photo depicted children playing and exploring nature on Star Island located off the coast of New Hampshire. The contrast between the boys' orange shorts and the blue skies and water accentuates the refreshing quality of New England's summer air. 24x24
