I employ bright and colorful palettes, and infuse each of my still lifes with a sense of joy. These oil paintings are sure to brighten any space they inhabit, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere. I love capturing the essence of everyday objects, arranging them in imaginative and visually captivating ways. With their lively colors and playful arrangements, these still life paintings invite viewers to appreciate the beauty and magic found in the simplest of things.
'En Plein Air' is the French expression for 'In the Open Air.' It refers to the practice of painting directly from life outdoors. This challenging method gained popularity with the French Impressionists when paint became available in tubes. It experienced a resurgence centuries later with various American painting groups.
Plein Air painting holds a significant place in my artistic practice. I use these outdoor sessions to create small studies, capturing the nuances of light and color in nature. Additionally, they serve as a valuable resource for larger studio pieces. Occasionally, I decide to complete final works on location, making them available for collectors.
